BMW to launch more products apart from Mini Cooper brand in 2012

At the 2012 Indian Auto Expo the one creation that is sure to astound everyone is the introduction of iconic brand Mini’s products to India by the German luxury carmaker BMW in the form of three-door Cooper hatchback, Cooper Convertible and Countryman SUV.

The President of BMW in India, Mr. Andreas Schaaf said that with the launch of Mini brand in India the company will target the privileged class of car buyers in order to achieve desired results.

Apart from Mini brand the Volkswagen Group brand BMW also plans to launch a 3 Series convertible car in the country by the end of December month this year and an all new 3 Series sedan for India also expected to be introduced next year. The luxury marquee BMW is also eager to come up with the BMW M5 vehicles in 2012; these are the high performance cars that are rated above 5 Series executive sedans.

According to the company in the beginning there will be three Mini brand showrooms in India that will display Mini Cooper models, two of the outlets will be based in Delhi and one will be opened in Mumbai. All the three showrooms are expected to be opened in the first quarter of next year.

By the end of next year sighting the demand, BMW may also set up its dealerships in Bengaluru, Pune, and Chandigarh along with Chennai.

The luxury segment is presently ruled by BMW in India, its German companion Audi has also set the aim to acquire the top position in the country by 2014 and is coming up with products like Audi A1, a one of its kind hatchback cum mini SUV. It will be interesting to see how both these luxury giants fight their way out.
